2009 Meeting Notes
General Items:
1.
Wildfire on the Divide (Harvest Festival)
·
The poster is complete and has been distributed to the schools and we
are now waiting for the rest of the posters to be printed and distributed to
the businesses.
·
We have sent out invitation letters and registrations with a few coming
in already.
·
Tamara West expressed the desire
to help with the media. We just need to
get the information to her.
·
The USFS is looking at having a booth with possibly offering to the
kids an opportunity of making animal prints in clay. They are also going to be offering sugar pine
seeds.
2.
Foresthill Community Fire Drill
·
After talking about this at the Fire Drill at the last meeting everyone
thought it was a good idea.
·
Unfortunately the 49 Fire put a kink in the meeting that was suppose to
take place with the OES and
·
We would like to use the Reverse 911 to contact residents as a test and
advertise during that test the Harvest Festival and to stop by and fill out a
survey letting us know if the Reverse 911 was informative.
·
Cell phones are generally not used with the system due to the constant
changing of numbers and owners.
·
There is a question of residents who do not have cell phones or
computers and limited transportation.

Grant Updates:

The fuel break is said to be 100% complete.
3.
Pipeline 1 Fuel Break
·
All done.
4.
Rooster Ridge Fuel Break
·
The request for RPF bid is going to be released this week.
5.
2009 Clearing House Grant Projects
·
Still no word from the Clearing House.
6.
2009 Stimulus Package Funding
·
The USFS has received money but unsure of where it will be distributed.
PCFSA- Placer
FFPD- Foresthill Fire Protection District – We were involved with the 49
Fire as well as the Magnolia Fire with strike team assistance. The Monte Verde Shaded Fuel Break bids have
been received and will be reviewed before they go to the Board. Trailhead HOA is looking at having their
common area cleared and asked for advice.
DAT- Disaster Action Team – There were six DAT members who helped out with the 49
Fire from setting up centers and shelters to working for three days with the
victims. It was quite an experience with
how everything was handled.

Firewise- Karina is working on
putting out an article that targets the
BOR- Bureau of Reclamation – N/A.
